Career Clusters

Meet the Healthcare and Nursing Student Advisory Board

Last spring, the Career Center recruited students to serve as advisors for our career clusters during the 2021-2022 academic year. We’re excited to introduce some of the student advisors and leaders who help brainstorm new ideas and share their feedback on how the Career Center can best serve students who are interested in careers in Healthcare and Nursing

Ben Baskin is a junior studying psychology in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, and is following a pre-med track. “In my free time, you can find me relaxing with friends, playing guitar, and exploring Boston. In the future, I hope to attend medical school and pursue my dream of one day becoming a surgeon.”

Nicole Cho is a junior from New York City studying biology with minors in mathematics and management and leadership. “I was first inspired to pursue medicine by my grandfather, who was a Navy surgeon. Outside of class, I am an avid football and hockey fan and I cover sports for The Heights.”

Katie Dagle is a senior majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Medical Humanities on the Pre-Med track. “Over the summer, I interned as an Undergraduate Research Intern at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in a neurobiology lab and volunteered at a free medical clinic which provides quality healthcare to uninsured and underinsured patients in Central Massachusetts. On campus, I am the Secretary of Timmy Global Health and a member of the Student Health Equity Forum (SHEF). I am interested in healthcare, public health, and preventive medicine.”

Courtney Davenport studies neuroscience with the hope of one day completing her Psy. D. in clinical psychology. “Through the Career Center’s Designing Your Career course, I have been able to navigate my strengths and passions, realizing you do not always need to be on a Pre-Med Track to contribute to our society’s healthcare system.”

Caroline Kaplan is a junior from Brookline, MA and is majoring in neuroscience, is minoring in computer science and finance, and is on the pre-Med track. “At BC, I am on the Club Rugby and Club Ultimate teams and I am part of the Consulting for Social Impact club. This past year I interned at the Brain Trauma Lab at MGH and I found it to be a very enriching and informative experience that helped me begin to shape my future. Through participating in the Health Care and Nursing Advisory Board I hope to help other students that are on the same path I am by working with the Career Center to provide them with accessible information and opportunities.”

Joseph Milosh is a junior in MCAS studying Economics and Biology on the Pre-Med track. “Outside of class time, I work in the Cardiology Department at Boston Children’s Hospital as an undergraduate research assistant and as an academic tutor for Boston College’s Student Athlete Academic Services. Additionally, I like to stay involved on campus in various extra-curricular activities, functioning as a member of the EagleShadow Leadership team and a member of the Healthcare and Nursing Student Advisory Board. If anyone has any questions about working in research or anything else, please feel free to reach out to me via email at miloshj@bc.edu!”

Alexa Setteducate is a junior from New Jersey who is majoring in Psychology on the pre med track. “On campus, I’m a member of BCEMS and also on the club squash team!”
