45% of Class of 2021 graduates who were employed full-time utilized networking through Boston College as a job search strategy.
What makes Boston College alumni so loyal to their alma mater and so willing to extend a helping hand to current students? Is it Showdown, Mudstock and football games? The Jesuit, Catholic tradition and values? The hard work and good times together as students?
Whatever the reasons, alumni make themselves available to you in several important ways.
Through Eagle Exchange, the Boston College alumni network.
Reach out to more than 11,000 alumni who have made themselves available for email, Zoom or phone conversations.
- Connect with alumni to learn about the industry they work in, their career path, trends in their industry or advice for getting an internship or that first job out of college.
- What else can you ask alumni? You can ask them questions about graduate school, preparing for interviews, choosing a major, and diversity and inclusion. Ask them to identify organizations that you could target in your job or internship search. You can ask practically any question you can dream up – EXCEPT “can I have a job?” View our Career Conversations guide for more information.
- To find alumni who share an identity with you (AHANA, first generation college student, international Student, LGBTQ+, Montserrat, persons with a disability, or varsity student athlete) – click on Connect >> Community >> More Filters >> Do you identify with any of the following affinities or groups?
Through industry-specific alumni panels and alumni-to-student networking events.
- During the academic year, the Career Center offers networking events each year such as Communications, Arts and Media Networking Night and Careers in Science, Technology, and Engineering Panel, which offer you the opportunity to learn from and speak directly with alumni.
- To hear about these events, subscribe to our career cluster newsletters. In Handshake, click on My Profile >> Your Interests >> Industries and select the industries that you are interested in.

Through Endeavor, the free, three-day career exploration program for sophomores and juniors held during winter break.
- Each January, 70-100 Boston College alumni return to campus to speak directly with Endeavor participants through panel discussions and individual conversations. Learn more about Endeavor.
